Boot menu file

hi. My computer had two operating systems installed on it and i formatted 1 particion, and now only has one OS, but the boot menu still comes up and thier is no .ini files for it. How do i get rid of the boot menu.

Hi,

Start/run msconfig, go to the boot.ini tab and click the button to "check
all boot paths". It should prompt to remove invalid ones.

You need to edit the BOOT.INI file in your root directory. It should look
similar to this:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home
Edition" /fastdetect

In the case of yours under [operating systems] it should currently say
multi(1).
You need to change multi(1) to multi(0).
