I'm currently trying to install windows 2000 on to a hard disc which is attached to my PCI RAID IDE controller (EIO ATA133 Raid) as I plan to move totally to this controller if a few weeks due to the onboard controller not being about to handle above udma33. However once the inital setup is complete (I press f6 during install and load drivers and install to the hard disc without problems) I get this error when it trys to boot
"Windows 2000 could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration problem
Could not read from selected boot disc. Check boot path and disk hardware.

Currently the boot.ini is still stored on the hard disc which is on the onboard controller so it seems that theres a problem between windows and my pci controller which stops me completing setup
For your information my boot.ini is as follow
"[boot loader
timeout=
default=signature(df0ce15c)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINN
[operating systems
signature(df0ce15c)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server" /fastdetec
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server" /fastdetect

The bottom one is the system I'm currently posting this from and the top one being the one which wont boot
Does anyone know what could be causing this

-Also I can access the hard disc on the PCI controller fine from within windows and I can see that its copyed across the inital setup files fin

Thanks

Thanks,

You might try installing the disk1 installation from a Slipstrteam that contains
SP4.

See tip 2529 in the 'Tips & Tricks' at http://www.jsiinc.com
Also, make sure your disk0 install is running SP4 first.

If your boot/system partition is FAT/FAT32, just boot off a
Win98 floppy and manually extract/copy the updated SP4
ATAPI.SYS to your \winnt\system32\drivers folder. Rename
the existing one instead of deleting it, in case you need it again.
