Boot issue

My XP does not boot, after login it loads XP background splash screen and
then saveing settings box and goes back to login screen. It appears to be
stuck in some sort of loop. How do I get this to boot?

Hi

After the next reboot, keep tapping the F8 key to see if you can access a
screen that has 'Last Known Good Configuration' as an option. See if that
gives you access to WIndows.

Failing that try, via Safe Mode (same screen as LKGC) a System Restore.

I tried all that, LKG or safe mode does not work, it appears that it boots,
does not load desk top than goes to the dialog box "saving settings", it
appears that it thinks the last know good was the last log on which went
right back to log off. Is there a dll or system file that might be corupt
that would try to load the desk top or call for the log off screen. It seems
like it is just stuck in a loop.
