boot.ini recovery

When my computer boots, I get the error message "boot.ini invalid/corrupt,
booting from C:\". When I use Recovery Console to list boot.ini files it, I
get the option to look in D"\, but not in C:\. I've tried every Recovery
Console option to list, scan, rebuild, with no luck. I'd like to do a repair
install, but I can't without the boot.ini file. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Ed.

Also consider "Repair" - not using the Recovery Console. Boot from the XP
CD - bypass the Recovery Console option - setup will proceed and will find
and list the current XP installation. At this point you will be offered two
options 1. Select and repair the current installation or 2. Proceed with a
clean install.

Select the repair option and setup, under the guise of repairing, will
proceed to perform an upgrade installation.

When I try repair install from XP cd I get an error message saying that the
install cannot continue without the Boot.ini file.

Mark I don't understand what your saying. How do I use this information to
replace the Boot.ini file?
