Boot.ini question

Is it possible to create a number of choices to boot the same operating
system (windows xp) with different configurations (i.e. each configuration
loading a particular set of programs and services)..?? Editing boot.ini
allows to create any number of entries at the os startup but it is limited to
the number of switches that can be used.
And in msconfig when checking/uncheking boxes in options of "startup" or
"services", the changes made in one entry apply to all other ones... Is there
a way around it or maybe there is another editor that can do it. I would
greatly appreciate your help. Thank you in advance.

There is a simple solution to duel boots.Microsoft does not advise you to
boot the same O/S but you can. Right click and open My
Computer.(Documentrics) Much faster than double clicking. After you open My
Computer view system information.Go to the Advanced tab.At the bottom you
will see Start up and Recovery.Click on Settings.Go to Edit and type in the
O/S. For Example: if I Don't Want Graphics on startup after the Windows
Script I Type in /noguiboot/. I boot up in 4 seconds to a box to enter my
Password. The Problem With Duel boots in Windows is you get 2 choices in DOS
and about 7 seconds to up, down the Arrow keys. I start with the weakest
boot(MBR) and work My way With Kernels I have Designed. In the end my multi
boot has a display screen With 4 to 6 choices. I have 25 seconds to respond.
also in your Edit you have to specify (2)Partition. I would only duel or tri
boot Different versions of Windows. Respectfully: Woz

"Duel" boots? You kick me, then I kick you?

You get 30 seconds by default, but you can change it to any amount you want
with the timeout=n line in boot.ini.
