boot.ini file changed and now Windows won't start!

My friend deleted the line saying "="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition"
/fastdetect ", from the boot.ini file. Before it said :
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home
Edition" /fastdetect

So now windows will not even load. When we restarted Windows, the startup
menu to choose the OS will appear, but if just says "Windows (default)" and
when that's click it will not even start. Please help us solve this! I
already read some older posts about boot.ini problems but i want to make sure
that the solution would be the same.
