Boot files don't show in Explorer

Although I can boot the computer, Start > Search doesn't find the files
Boot, Ntldr, Ntdetect, and pagefile; even though I have Explorer set to show
hidden files. I've searched all partitions. Is there an explanation?
 
Make sure that you have "Hide Protected Operating System Files" unchecked
as well.
