I just installed Windows XP Prof. Edition, and everything was running very
well for about 1 1/2 days. I updated Windows and IE with all patches and
SP's. The PC rebooted itself, and upon reboot, it displayed this error
message during the boot:
<something about file missing or corrupt>
Windows\System32\Config\System
It tells me to insert the Windows XP CD, and upon setup, hit "r" for
restoring it. I've tried that, but it takes me to a command line screen.
Can anyone help me figure this out without totally deleting the whole drive,
reformatting, and reinstalling?
Thanks for any help you can offer!
