boot error

have had a computer upgraded to xp from 98 has been
opertaing for 3 months ok. Sometime we lost power and now
computer stops and wont reboot. Reads boot error: system
halted. Can anyone help?

You don't give enough information to get good answers, but I'd guess
that some hardware component of your computer has been fried. If you
can't do hardware diagnosis yourself, take the machine in to a good
local repair shop (not a CompUSA or Best Buy type of store).
