I have tried six ways to sunday to create boot disks from the microsoft
download site but run into a wall getting them on floppys. In desparation I
tried downloading all versions. I need XP Pro and I need to create on floppys
for my son's computer which has crapped out as a result of trying to get rid
of Aurora and other trojan pests. The CD drive isn't reading. Anyway, the
download goes okay, but when I try to copy to the floppys, I keep getting a
opoup that says:
6 bit ms-dos subsystem
temp\dxp000.tmp\makeboot.exe
c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running
ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the
application.
Consequently, I get nothing on the floppys. I know I've got to be doing
something wrong, but I don't know what. Can anyone offer me a solution?
Thanks.
