Boot diskett

If for some reason you cant boot the CD, you can make boot floppies using
the makeboot.exe in the BOOT directory on the Windows 2000 CD as well.
 
format a floppy then copy these 3 files onto it

ntldr
ntdetect.com
boot.ini

they are hidden and you will have to unhide them in explorer
they must also come from the pc you wish to boot
this will boot you into w2k from the floppy

if you need to just format the drive and havnt got an OS installed go to bootdisk.com and download the win98 boot disk this has fdisk and format on it which will do the job for you. alternatively if you have norton ghost cd you can boot to that and use the gdisk utility on it which will do the same thing with a few more bells and whistles
