on my pc, it says "hard disk (O) failure"

You don't need a Win2000 boot disk; you need to download
& run the diagnostic tool that your disk manufacturer makes
available freely on his web site. After you have determined the
status of your disk, you can start thinking about repairing
Win2000.

There is a web site called BootDisk.com or something

close to that, just download a w98 version, it worked on
my w2000
