so i noticed mt pc locked up one evening but i shut it off by holding
down the power button.
next day couldn't boot.
for a couple of days i couldn't boot, kept getting the same error
message
i had a MSDOS boot floppy with the BIOS backup and ran it. .but it
didn't help.
tried running the XP restoral console, but it said could'nt find the
boot media.
went into BIOS and no IDE C drive detected.the D drive showed up i
think, as well as the floppy and the DVD/CD drive.
BTW my hdds are WD sata's.
so I closed the BIOS session, and the computer came back to life.
during the blackout, i did a physical inspection of the harnesses to
the drives and all looked fine. i didn't read the voltages off my PSU.
but it came with the JUSTPC case, and i never felt good about it.
so i want to take action and am thinking the PSU is the prime suspect.
is there a boot record that i can see what happened? maybe updating my
BIOS was the fix, and it took a couple of boots to get it going.
this is all new ground to me, any help would be great
