bookmarks missing

I opened up an e-mail from a friend and went to a link
for vacation property. Looked to the left side of browser
and favorites were missing. did a search for bookmark.htm
and nothing. Nothing in recycle bin. What happened??? How
do I get them back??

IE does not use a file called bookmark.htm
Look for a Favorites folder, as that is where the Favorites are kept.

Did you only look for the favorites panel or did you try the menu
option Favorites as well?
