Spyware or what? For some reason it was installed on my system, all my
google searches say it is not malware, but I disagree:

A service in the background was what was causing my system to lock up and go
extremely slow, also caused my display to screw up. #ID_String1... whatever
was the service..

Anyone know why bonjour would be doing this, and how it got on my system in
the first place?

"#ID_String1... whatever was the service" is of absolutely no use to anyone,
we need to know what the service was.

About the Bonjour Program:
Bonjour Is an application comes with iPod or iTune and also with QuickTime
Player and can be installed with Camera software which install QuickTime
Media Player.
So if you have One of these Products you have this Program running with
them, if you don't then you can uninstall it if you don't have use for it
you or
any member of the family.
It is not a spyware unless you can see it accessing or connecting to the
internet without any need for the program to do so without your permission.
HTH.

If you were smart enough to google it, that is all you need. Anyways, I
removed the Bonjour crap with hijackthis.

I had Bonjour on my system and it added almost 2 minutes to my boot
time. I believe it was installed with iTunes that I was playing with
a year or so ago. I uninstalled iTunes after I felt I did not want it
but that did not uninstall Bonjour.

Afte removal in Add/Remove Programs, my boot time decreased.
