Body text not on page

The text I type into the page does not appear on the page in the code view.
Is there something I need to do ? All that appears after I publish the page
is the footer.

Are you working with a DWT or Included Page content?

I fixed the problem with the text not showing. My real problem now is I can post the page once ,but if I try to add anything to the page and re-post the text goes missing altogether. WHy doesn't the text stay on the page ??
