Blurry screen

Move speakers, other monitors, TVs and large fans away
from the monitor.
Use a shorter monitor cable (or an amplifier).
Is your monitor near your furnace?
If its an LCD screen set the screen resoultion to its
maximum.
The monitor itself may need replaced.

Those are common problems I can think of. It could be
something else though.
 
Then, if you heard pops and crackles, then most definitely the monitor may
be read to die. Those sounds may be capacitors, transistors and IC circuits
that are failing.
