i have windows XP with SP2. i have recently noticed that pictures i view on
the internet are very blurred, even when i try to magnify them they are very
unclear. i know my eyes are not failing because on my sons computer they are
very clear LOL.
this has only become apparent over the past month or so. any help would be
appreciated.
kind regards.

First - what type/size monitor do you have? Is it a flatscreen/LCD?

If it is and LCD monitor - are you running things at the NATIVE resolution
for said monitor - or - like so many - at a lower resolution?
(You can answer just by telling me what size monitor you have, if it is LCD
or not - and a brand/model would be helpful as well. You can also check and
see what resolution you are running at (1024x768, 1280x1024, etc...)

hi Thanks for the response, it is a Dell 19" tft flat monitor and it is
running at 1280x1024 resolution as per the manufacturers recommendations, i
have had the monitor for over a year and have had no problems until recently.

Right click a blank spot on the desktop and choose Properties | Settings |
Advanced
Set DPI to Normal (96 DPI).

Hi, I, too, am having the same problems with blurry pictures and my DPI is
also 96.
I have webtv also but this computer stuff is very new to me. what dp you
mean by turning off any web accelerator. when we first got the comp from my
sister the pics were fine and it seems like when we got the sp2 that's when
my pics started looking funny. I thought maybe i had gotten a virus until i
found this page and saw that someone else was having the same problem. Any
help would be appreciated.
thanks

I mean that if your ISP installed a Web Accelerator, it works by only
downloading part of a picture - not enough for the picture to be clear. You
will have to ask your ISP for more details.
