I am trying to connect my mobile phone to my computer for data
synchronization via a bluetooth connection. I have never used bluetooth on
my computer before. The help section on bluetooth on the computer says to go
into 'Control Panel' then 'Printers and Other Hardware' then 'Bluetooth
Devices'. Unfortunately the category 'Bluetooth Devices' does not show up on
my computer under 'Printers and Other Hardware'. Does that mean that I don't
have bluetooth capability on this computer? Is there anywhere else I might
be able to find bluetooth devices on the computer?

you might have to buy a blue tooth usb dongle.
it a little device that plugs into a usb port and works as bluetooth receiver/transmitter.

have you tried direct connection instead. might need to buy a cable.
check with bitpim to see if your phone is supported by them.

You will need a Bluetooth dongle, which plugs into a USB port, it should
come with a CD to install software like Widcomm which will enable the
phone and computer to communicate and will put a Bluetooth icon in your
control panel.
You have to make sure the Bluetooth service on your phone is switched on.
