I have a laptop with built in bluetooth. I figured that
ordering the bluetooth intellimouse, it would work with
the bluetooth.

The laptop is running xp sp1, the bluetooth mouse is
found and pairs quite happily using no passkey.... it
just doesn't work. It does work if I use the
usb/bluetooth adapter supplied, but the point of this
exercise was that I shouldn't need it.

Anyone know if this mouse will work with onboard
bluetooth?

Yes it will, solved my own problem. Uninstalled the
onboard bluetooth from device manager and then scanned
for hardware changes. It then put back the Cambridge
Silicon Radio Ltd. Bluetooth Adapter and in addition
added a Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator. As a result, the
mouse was detected correctly and now works.
