Bluetooth Desktop - Cant see services in Belkin BT Access Point

T

Tim Giles

Hi,

I have the Microsoft Bluetooth Desktop (keyboard, mouse,
transceiver). The current software supplied with it is not
bad as far as the mouse and keyboard go, but the support
for the bluetooth trnasceiver is dire.

I can not get the Wireless Link page to show me
the 'Services' for a Belkin Bluetooth Access Point with
USB Print Server. I am running XP.

If install a TDK or Belkin USB Bluetooth adapter, no
problem, I can see the services, connect, no problems.
With the Microsoft transceiver I can see the device but I
get no Services.

Any thoughts

Tim

If you read through the Tom's Hardware guide that I linked you'll see that
they reported that Microsoft confirmed just such an ongoing development to
them - "Microsoft maintains that they are working on drivers and that
updates will extend compatibility to include this feature in particular."

It's a very well-respected site and I have no reason to doubt them.

I wouldn't necessarily rely on "a few other posts" in any newsgroup (no
matter how wonderful they usually are ;o).....) to find out what MS'
marketing decisions were. It's probably better to try and ask MS
directly... email customer support, what have you got to lose?

In the meantime, you could try re-reading the section on "Connecting other
Bluetooth devices" - it might help.

Good luck
