bluetooth adapter

I just got a USB Bluetooth adapter from eBay without any iinformation
if it is a Class I or Class II radio and also no information which
Bluetooth version it is (1.1, 1.2, 2.0 ????)
The adapter is blck with only a "Bluetooth (tm)" logo on it.

I plugged the thing on my Windows Vista driven laptop and Windows
update automatically installed some drivers.
At the very least, it works fine with my Nokia phone and Nokia PC
Suite.

Still, there must be a way to extract radio Class and supported
Bluetooth version somehow!!

Well, you could take the manufacturers name and model number and look it up.
If you don't even have that info, you got what you paid for.

Yes, I know! I didn't pay much ;) for the gizmo.

Just a tought, I believe I will try to connect at one hundred feet
then, at two hundred. If it still connect. it must be a Class I
device.
