Hello.

After changing my second harddisc i get the following stop code:
Stop: 0x00000050 page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

There is no driver mentioned where the stop code occurs in.

My configuration:
Windows 2000 Professional
Service Pack 4
Harddisc as Primary Master
2nd Harddisc as Primary Slave
CD-ROM as Secondary Master
CD-ROM as Secondary Slave

After changing the second harddisc i rebooted in normal mode, then the stop code occured. After that i rebooted in safe mode, that worked fine. After logging in Windows 2000 detected new hardware and stated "your new hardware was installed and is ready to use". After that the bluescreen occured in all startup options (normal, safe mode, vga mode, last known good) except in "enable boot logging".

When i start the machine with "enable boot logging" all works fine, also the second harddisc is fully available. I have already reinstalled Service Pacl 4, but this did not help. What's the problem ?

Thank you.

The system might be looking for the paging file in a location that is no
longer accessible. Have a look at
http://www.microsoft.com/TechNet/win2000/win2ksrv/reskit/sopch16.asp,
especially Stop Error 50. To fix it, you may have to get some old 2GByte
disk, format it as FAT or FAT32, connect it as a slave drive, then launch
Win2000 and place the paging file on drive C:.

Hi.

Thankx for your answer, but the page file is only on primary harddisc and it was before. So this cannot be the reason.

Regards,
Ronald
