Blue Screen'in While Installing Vista Ultimate!

When I first tried to install windows vista onto my pc (see spec below) the
first thing that happed was while loading up the setup files a blue screen
which was basically saying to prevent damage with no error code.

Tried to install again same problem tried again on the 2nd sata hard drive
and same problem again.

Took the pc apart and then tried it again this time it installed because I
had disconnected the pc from the net but when it came to the rebooting stage
it loads up the black vista screen and then crashes with a blue screen
however it flickers to quick to get any details down.

Now at first I thought I may have bought a counterfeit item so checked with
Microsoft on the product key and they go its all legal but now im left with
no idea what is going on with my pc. XP installs and works fine on it and its
100% 64 Bit compatible.

I’ve got no idea what i should do now as I feel really stupid as im totally
clueless with vista and was hoping as the first in my business and out of all
my friends to install it I would have the upper hand however I seem to have
been made to look quite the fool as I cant even install it.

The Spec:
INTEL QX6700
Asus P5N E SLI
Asus Geforce 7600 GS
4 GB DD2 PC2-6400 800Mhz 240PIN Samsung RAM
2 x 500 GB WD SATA HD
2 x Samsung SH-S138A DVD RW
Creative Audigy 2 ZS

Is the computer Vista compatible? There is a Vista compatibility tool.

The next issue is this. Is the software Vista compatible?

cut back to 2 gig for install, Do Not insert key when requested (do that
