Dear All,

I need your guidance for the following problem:
When I recently tried to connect to my dial up internet connection, the
screen went blue with the following message:

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer. The problem seems to be caused by the following file;
Intelc52.sys
PAGE-FAULT-NONPAGED-AREA
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your
computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.
If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer
for any Windows update you might need.
If the problem continues, disable or remove any newly installed hard ware or
soft ware. disable BIOS memory optiions such as caching or shadowing. If you
need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer
, press F8 to select Advanced Start Up options and then select Safe Mode.

Technical Information:
STOP: 0X00000050 (0XF8F00000,0X00000000,0XF8E9F099,0X00000000)
Intelc52.sys-Address F8E(F099-base at F8E77000, date stamp 3fbd1290

Beginning dump of memory
Physical memory dump complete
contact your system administrator or technical support group for further
assistance.
This is the end of the message.

I then tried Device Manager and System:
On looking at the events log in systems i have noted the following error:

Events Log
System Error Category (102)
Event ID 1003
Error Code description
10000050 parameter 1 F8F000000
Parameter 2 00000000
Parameter 3 F8E9F099
Parameter 4 00000000

On visiting the web site mentioned ( go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp) the
screen I get is that no information is available at this time.

I do not have any new hardware or software, system restore does not work and
the dell diagnostics disk shows every thing as normal. Please can any one
help me?. I think this problem was created by my ISP as I did not upgrade to
their Broadband. I kept putting it off as there were other better deals
available and the ISP, I believe, has deliberately managed to download a
corrupted driver on to my system.

Once again, please help me out.

Thanks and regards

Why would your ISP do it. Take your modicate. Paranoria is never attractive.

It appears to be an Intel file of some sort. Try right clicking it and see
what it's supposed to do (it will be far easier for you if you can work out
what it does this way as the other way is time consuming and boring). Most
drivers live at c:\windows\system32\drivers

Dear David,

The screen is blue and frozen so one cannot right click it. Thanks any way
for your suggestion

Nope. I don't read any computer books or magazines at all. If I ever found
one I thought was useful you wouldn't be able to understand it. I doubt such
books exist. If you want to learn spend 1/2 hour a day reading here.

Someone at your level of experience may be able to suggest to you a good
book.

Make sure you read the version tab on that file.

Hi Zeke
2 questions. Do you have AOL installed? Do you have anyone elses high speed
connection manager installed.
These programs poll for an internet connection ( especially the AOL program
that runs in your taskbar) through the network card and when you use the
dial-up connection box it somehow interferes. Also try disabling the
Microsoft XP firewall temporarily and if that don't work try disabling the
service. Ctrl.>Alt>delete, then the services tab. Yhis has worked for me
before.
The file Intelc52.sys is not corrupt! It is some other program using a
memory space which the Intelc52.sys needs.
If you have dsl or cable you don't need this file because it's only for the
modem.
It might get worse as in my case. I now have a Your system has recovered
from a fatal error earlier in the start up process.
This problem I guess is restricted to Dell Demension computers using the
Intel on board modem. It seems that thier help desk people don't know how to
fix it as I was called. AOL just says it's a Dell problem. Which I now
firmly believe.

I am having the same exact problem as the guy who first posted this
message. What ever you told him, that seemed to help him, I did not
understand it. Does anyone have any ideas how I fix this problem?
Starting with the least drastic measure I can try? I consider having to
re-install Windows XP drastic. Anyway, I would really appreciate
anyone's informed suggestions.
Here is the guy's original post so you have an idea of my problem. They
sound pretty much identical.
