Hi,

Not all the time but most of the time whenever I use my dvd/cd-rom or not that while I am surfing or I have some programs running simultaneously I get the blue screen and my computer restarts or reboots.

Any body knows why?

Ps. The blue screen lasts for less than a second so I can not even see the error code what it is.

I also loaded the program the Cachemanxp to check the background program and everything is working just fine and I do not see any unusual program stealing my memory.

I have 512 MB of cache on XP professional.

Regards,

Sam

Hi Sam

Right click My Computer, select Properties and then the Advanced tab. Click on Settings under 'Startup and Recovery' and uncheck 'Automatically restart'. Next time your PC reboots the BSOD should stay on the screen. Can you please post the Stop Code that accompanies the BSOD?

Open the Control Panel and double click the System icon.
Select the Advanced tab and at the bottom is the Settings
button for Startup and Recovery. Click this button and
deselect Automatically restart. This will show you the
error info at the next BSOD. Requires a restart. Start
there.

I may sound funny but after unchecking the box for AUTOMATICALLY RESTART
still when I go to my CD-ROM I get the blue screen for less than a second
and the computer RESTARTS on its own!!!

Thanks
