Removed ME edition and upgrading to Win2k. Have
reformatted the hard drive to NTFS partition and then
tried fresh install but when it gets to check the devices
it blue screens - I noticed that an error - something to
do with frequecny pops up very briefly on the monitor
before it blue screens with hardware malfunction.

I have treid this again , deleting the partitions and
replacing with FAT32 install but it still doesn't work.

Any idea's?

Ouchh!!

It's difficult to say, but personally, I would start by
replacing the RAM. You don't say what kind of
RAM you have (SDRAM, DDR) or what type
(PC133, PC2100, PC2700...). When reaplcing
the RAM, consult the MB user guide (if included)
or do a Google on its brand and model to see what
kind of RAM is recommended.

Of course you might be asking - "It worked before,
why not now?" - sometimes it depends on the h/w
and os combination. I had an old PC (Celeron 450)
that work fine with Win 98 but gave me lots of
problems with NT4 and I finally determined that it
was a RAM module.

Also, I am not sure how well WIn2K will like having
just 96MB of RAm ;-)

Good luck
