Blue Screen of Death

B

Bill

When I boot up with Win 2K Pro I know get this message:
STOP:0x0000007B - INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE.

The knowledge base says this is because I am mirrowing Win
2k Pro with Win 2K Server. I don't have 2K Server.

If I go to my last known good configuration, I can boot up
but get errors when trying to run certain programs. When
I reboot my system it reverts to the Blue Screen.

Can someone please help

99% of Blue Screens are hardware related. Usually, a computer will look at floppy drive, hard drive, or cd for boot up. Your problem is there. Try removing the CD drive from the machine and booting. Also check your CMOS for boot devices or boot order and reconfiguring those. Did you add/change any hardware? That is your problem. Make sure your hardware is on the OS compatabality list.

Anytime you see BOOT in the description, not only should
you check your BIOS for boot order and check your boot.ini
file, check for a boot virus.

This error usually indicates that Windows cannot communicate with the hard
drive controller, possibly because of a problem with the driver. Other
things can also cause a Stop 0x0000007b such as filter drivers. Did you
change any hardware, update any drivers, or install or uninstall any
software recently?
