Hi,
It had started restarting by itself when i was doing various things on my
computer.I've looked at support pages but they describe it as an error during
the setup of xp but mine happens after it starts up and in the middle of me
doing something.I've updated my bios like it has said, check the video
adapters and sure that i have enough disk space. Ever since i updated my bios
i've also gotton a new hardware message about a installed PCI device but i
haven't installed anything since. Do you think it could be my ram?

Hi Gary,

Is Windows stopping the Blue Screen to see if it is pointing to a
specific Driver? Or is it Automatically restarting the computer?

Change the setting to apply Windows To Stop at the Blue Screen and Dump
its physical Ram to Hard Drive. Then reboot the computer.

Hi, I had a similar problem, I would be browsing or reading an email and my
computer would go off and restart, it also happened when I wasn't connected
to the internet. I couldn't use my scanner and thought by changing the
cable that might fix it but still it restarted, although the scanner did
work. I asked a question through this newsgroup and was advised to clean
the dust out from the fan and inside the case and lo and behold after
cleaning (totally disgusting) all worked OK. I don't know if this is the
same problem but I am very grateful for the expert advise that I get from
these newsgroups.
