Blue screen error

PC was running slow and, no doubt, had a few bugs so bought system mechanic 6.

Loaded software and on reboot XP kept failing to launch, just stopped and
shut down pc.

I then tried a repair of XP and after the first stage the pc rebooted to the
blue screen with error RDR_FILE_SYSTEM. Tech Info was STOP: 0x00000027
(0xBAAD009C,0xF894c288,0xF894BF88,0xF7E5B988)

can anyone help?

I have little pc knowledge and if I need to do a full reinstall, can anyone
help me to recover my word files and my jpeg photos ( I did not back up my
most recent)
