blue screen crash

Hi girls & guys,

hoping you can assist with a recent problem on our XP home based PC

It has recently started shutting down, with a blue screen stop erro
message.

This is typically STOP:0x0000008E (0xc0000005, parameter 2, paramete
3, 0x0000000)

note data in parameter 2 & 3 different each time.

Event log for each occurence would appear to show the following:
source: system error
category: (102)
event: 1003

At a bit of a loss as to where to go from here to resolve this issue.
HELP greatly appreciated
