Blue Screen + ACPI

sammy

My pc restarts about 2 or 3 times after booting with a Blue Screen.
I happened to check the log using Event Viewer.

Event Viewer result was 2X Red Marks which read:

"ACPI Bios is attempting to read from an illegal IO port address (0xcfc)
which lies in the 0xcf8-0xcff protected address range. This could lead to
system instabilty. Please contact your system vendor for technical
assisitance."
2nd is the same but then instead of "...attempting to read, is attempting
to write to an IO port....."

Any idea what is happening here? It is now a habit of the pc restarting
twice or thrice.
Advice appreciated

thanks.

Hi Sammy,

You more than likely require a BIOS update, see:

I'll have to check for this update.
It's only surprising that this has recently began (with same computer &
software).

thanks Rick.
