BLUE SCREEN - A Fatal Exception for USB connection problem

My notebook is using Window 98 second edition, and there is only one USB
port. My printer has been setup for this port and work very well. Recently,
when I try to connect my mobile phone to my notebook through this USB port, a
BLUE SCREEN has come out for a fatal exception. Does it cause by IRQ conflict?
Does anyone have any suggestion?
Thank you in advance

The software for mobile phone has been installed with driver, and the mobile
phone is needed to be connected in order to detect the USB connection, but
once the mobile phone connected with my notebook through USB, then BLUE
SCREEN appears.
Do you have any suggestion on how to solve it?
Thank you
Eric

Searching for faint memories of W98.... You should be using W98 SE.

Most printer software takes control of the USB port. The software does not
tolerate well replacing the printer with another type of device....

You would be ahead if you bought a card with more ports.
