I get a 'bloop' sound when I load a new web page
(sometimes more than one 'bloop'). I went to the sounds
tab in control panel & deleted all sounds - no change. I
tried and removed both MSN's & Yahoo's pop-up blockers &
they don't appear to be related. The only thing I can
find that works is mute!
Any suggestions? TIA - Miles

Goto Display Settings, set you Windows Settings Theme to back to XP Classical.

did you delete the right sound?
the correct one would be in
Control Panel->Sounds And Audio Devices
on Sounds pane
Windows Explorer (group)->StartNavigation(sound) <--delete this one

to delete just that sound, click on the Sounds drop down list, and select
none

No, that's not the right one, either. I've been following this thread as I
have
been getting the sound as well whenenver I open explorer. The sound you
suggest above is the one that I hear when I click on a link. That's fine.
The
sound that I (and likely the OP) am getting is the sound for "Default Beep"
(Windows XP Ding.wav). Why would this sound get played when I open
IE?

thnx,
Christoph
