Bloodhound w32.exe

While updating my current version of Symantic A/V Corporate v 8.1.1.319,
Ireceived a popup telling me I was infected with with the subject virus
(bloodhound w32.exe), and that it was a serious. Before I could deal with
the popup, it disappeared. I ran the A/V program but found nothing of this
name, or any other virii.
Is this a hoax, or real? How do I deal with this?
I think I read some where that Bloodhound is a proprietary name Symantec
uses for certain problems. Whether this is so, or not, how do I follow up on
the problem? TIA for any help y'all could provide.

Not sure, but check here:
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/backdoor.sokeven.html
Or:
http://www.faqfarm.com/Computer/Virus/Bloodhound/45981

Or, put w32.exe in the search box in Google and see what comes up.
Or, try a free online scan from Trend Micro or others.
