Hi,

I wonder if it possible to prevent users from shutting down a WinXP PC. We
got few computer which are use as DVR system and we don't want users to shut
them down by mistake. So if we can remove the shutdown option by tweaking it,
users will have to select restart instead.

Here are a few links from the search.

Thanks for the links. I found that also. I guess this is the only solution. I
would like to keep the restart option though.

Amiro2k,

I wrote a program many years ago to do this. Maybe it's still floating
around the net somewhere

You can go into GPEDIT.MSC if using a XP Pro machine & then remove the users
from that policy

User Configuration | Start Menu & Taskbar | Remove & Prevent Access to the
Shutdown Command [ENABLED]

Don't forget the Shutdown Without Logon on the Welcome screen too
