Hi,
I have a W2K server (web server, no AD). I would like to
bock PING request from other clients when they try to ping
the server. However, I still want to allow PING requests
to serveral clients only. Is there a way I can do that?
Thank you very much for your help in advance.

I only know of doing it with a firewall (hardware or software should both do
the trick) in it's "Stealth" mode in which it won't reply to ping requests.
Most firewalls have this capability today. There are a number of them and
I'm reluctant to give a brand specific name but you surely know of a decent
one which, in it's options, should have the ability to be stealthed.

blocking ping (ICMP packet) can be done for a single computer check

Neat. A lot like work but still neat. Personally I'd use a firewall if at
all possible but that's still a rather creative way of doing it. I like the
ability to set it to allow certain computers to ping the PC. I don't think
that is a feature available in any firewalls that I've used though some may
have it. Thanks for the link :)
