Blocked from inserting a chart into PPT

In the middle of producing a PPT presentation, I got blocked from inserting
any charts. Able to insert 2 but not now. I get the statement, "Some chart
types cannot be combined with others. Choose another chart type." But it
won't accept any other choices. I started a new presentation and now I
canj't insert any charts in that one either.

HELP PLEASE!
