Block user from accessing Internet

I have 8 computers in a peer-to-peer network, running XP
home and XP pro. I need to restrict some users from
accessing Internet so that they can do the office work
instead of surfing and chatting. Anyone who can help will
be greatly appreciated.

Several easy ways ...

1. If you have a router, you can block all traffic from that computer using
deny.

2. If you have dynamic IP addresses, change that computer to static, then,
remove the "Gateway" entry in their TCP settings.

Thanks my friend, but a user can go in and reset the ip
settings so it defeats the purpose. I was told that XP has
an option for administrator to log on the workstation and
somewhere somehow deny Internet access. That person didn't
know how to do it and I've had no luck finding such a
setting. Do you know anything about that option? Has
anyone any idea of this option?
I have a Nexland router, so how do I use "deny"?

Hiya

We have something called Browse Control You can view details and
download the fully functional trial from: www.browsecontrol.com

With this you can either turn internet off totally, or linit it to
certain times of fa, e.g. lunch hours.

You can also provide a WHITE LIST, i.e. work related web sites they
can access during work hours.
