Hi All,

I posted this question on March 3:

"The MS05-016 bulletin says "Systems that block unknown file name
extension types or only allow known valid file name extension types
would be at a reduced risk from this vulnerability."
How does one:
-- block unknown file name extension types
-- only allow known valid file name extension types"

Wesley Vogel posted a 2 responses the same day with a lot of detail on
this issue. Happily I saved his responses in a Word doc, because
today I see that the entire thread has been deleted. It didn't even
last two weeks. :-(

In light of Wes' responses, I spent some time poking around the
Registry over the past two weeks, but I don't see what I can do about
the two questions repeated above. Any ideas?

TIA,
Richard

Sorry Richard, the thread had not been deleted. GG has decided not to show
it to you anymore because it was 2 weeks old. you can find it searching
though.

Time to switch to a newsreader and dump GG.

I'm sure the thread is still there. To search for a thread use Google
