Hi,...
I have a DC with win 2k installed, but i'd like to block the msn messenger
in the organization's computer.
How I do it?? In the gpo schema don't have the option "Messenger" like the
2003 server has.
Anybody have any .adm to put??

Thanks

André Luiz

We block msn messenger via a GPO: user config/admin templates/system/Don't
run specified windows applications

enable the "Don't Run..." and specify which apps you wish to prohibit.such
as msnmsgr.exe, AIM.exe, whatever you want.

Christoffer's suggestion would work quite well, too.

Bobby,

While I have not tried this - I am simply thinking out loud - the more
intelligent users might simply rename aim.exe to aolim.exe or something
similar so that they can run / install this particular application. A good
"partner" to this possible solutions might be to make sure that the domain
user account objects are not members of the computer's local Administrators
group....

HTH,

Cary
