blaster virus

So I figured out I was infected with the blaster virus. I
downloaded the steps to remove this from my computer. I
began the removal steps and my computer suddenly turned
off. It now continually turns off and on when I try to
boot it. I get to the "Starting Windows 2000" page and
then it restarts.

I take it my computer is completely overrun with the
virus. Is it fixable?

The Blaster virus infects the RPC (Remote Procedure Call)
component of Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Windows is
receiving the restart command via RPC from the Internet.
What you need to do is disconnect your computer from the
internet to stop the endless restart cycle. Then you will
need to obtain the RPC patch and apply it to your system
while not connected to the Internet. If you have another
computer that is running Windows 98 or NT 4 or perhaps a
friend could download the file for you. It is small
enough to fit on a floppy disk so getting it to your
computer shouldn't be too diffcult. The following url
should take you to Microsoft's download page to obtain
the patch:

Good Luck
