Blank screen

Why am I not seeing the video while i am working on it ( black screen) in
movie maker but I can see it if I save it and then play it on Media
Player.............??

The only truly compatible video files for MM are wmv or dv-avi, if you use
something like mpeg, divx-avi this can cause your problem.
