Blank screen after "Switch User"

If I "Switch Users" and logon to a second user, all is well. If I "Switch
User" back again, all is well. But if I "Log off" the second user, the UAC
screen does not appear - just a blank, black screen that doesn't seem to let
me do anything! Have to force power off and reboot.

Anyone else experienced this?

Forgot to mention - it's Vista Home Premium (32 bit). Also, it sometimes get
as far as wallpaper screen and "Please wait", rather than just blank screen.
But it just sits there doing nothing but frustrate me!

This is exactly what happens on my new Dell system out of the box. All I
did was create my multiple User accounts and went straight into switching
User's and got the blue screen. You are not alone. I should have used my
free 90-day support on this one--but Vista was so buggy--I had bigger fish to
fry. I was and am still stunned that systems have problems with
logoff/restart/sleep right out of the box from top-tier system builders. I
also can't believe Microsoft doesn't extend free Vista support for 90 days
after SP1.

I'm having the exact same problem that both of you describe. Numerous blue
screens that usually occur when switching users. Dell has replaced my RAM
and video card and done a complete reinstallation of the operating system and
software, but now it is happening again. Anyone found a solution to this
problem?
