Blank Screen after Logging Off

Two of my four users on my PC are sometimes getting a blank screen (apart
from the mouse cursor) after logging off.

The PC cannot be accessed again until its rebooted after pressing the button
on the PC TOWER. The PC does not go into the Check Disk program though after
rebooting.

Looking at the Event Viewer the only thing its says is this (I have blanked
out the users name with ???????);

Interesting. I was going to tell you to download and install the User
Profile Hive Cleanup utility from MS to solve the problem, but the very log
entry you posted suggests that it IS installed (UPHClean.exe).

Its a few days now since I posted the original and have only ONE reply.

Any ideas?

It looks like this problem concerns the XP HOME SCREENSAVER that comes into
use after nobody has used the USER SIGN IN for 10mins.

What it looks as though its doing is the screensaver comes into operation
but its not reverting to the USER SIGN IN screen when the mouse is moved.

What I have done is to turn the SCREENSAVER off as instructed in the MS
KNOWLEDGE BASE, what the KB does not say is why and how do people get around
the problem apart from just turning it off.

Any ideas?
