Blank pages redux

Steven Capsuto

I have a report set up to print on letter-size paper in portrait
layout. The report design is only 6.5 inches wide and about 5 inches
high, though the detail section "can grow."

Generally there is little enough data that the report fits on one page
with room to spare between the detail section and the page footer, yet
we consistently get a second page, which is blank.

None of the sections is set to force a new page. There's no report
header or footer. There's no subreport.

Frankly, I'm baffled. Any suggestions to resolve this would be
greatly appreciated.

I would suspect that you do have either a control that very slightly overlaps
the 6.5 inch width OR you have not set the width of the page to 6.5 inches.

Click in the upper left corner of the report, so that you have just the report selected.

In the properties for the report, find the width property on the Format tab and
enter 0 in the width. Access will reset the width to the minimum required to
include all controls (including lines). If this width is greater than 6.5
(inches) and the total of your left and right margins is greater than 2
(inches), then you will get a 2nd page (which may be blank or have just a small
bit of some object on it).
