blank page

JB

Hi.
I occasionaly get (usually with the same sites) a blank white page with
'Done' on the status bar or some of the contents showing but with 'error on
this page' on the status bar.
Is this something I can fix or is it the other end?
Thanks

Could be either. Post a sample link which you are having trouble with.

FWIW that looks fine to me. However, I am using IE7b2p
so it may be best to wait for someone else who is using the same
version of IE as yours.

BTW there is a little bit of scripting on that site and it appears
not that important to the rendering of the page, so what you
could try is changing your Security settings to prompt for or disallow
Active scripting. Then refresh the page to see if it renders any
better without scripting.

Good luck

Using win2k and IE6 with all updates
no problem displaying the page.
Might check your popup blocker if you have one.
I occasionally get a page that does the "blank - done' thing
and I get it ok by disabling popup blocker.

Hi. Thanks Kenxl Zou.
Well I've followed the advice but still have the same problem. It turns out
that it doesn't remaim blank but eventually after a minute or more starts to
load and can take another minute to load.
It looks like that littlewoods link is the only one right now that it's
happening with.
Saving me money though as I loose the will to shop by the time each page
loads!

Hello JB,

Since resetting IE did not work for your issue, we may try to repair and
reinstall IE following the steps below:

1. Run the Windows File Protection program to repair the Windows
installation.

Note: This step may require the Windows XP or Windows XP Service Pack 1
installation CD. Make sure that the customer has the CD or the original
equipment manufacturer's (OEM) recovery disk before the customer follows
these steps.

a. Log on to your computer by using an administrator account.
b. Run the System File Checker tool to scan the protected files on your
computer. Click Start, click Run, type sfc /scannow , and then click OK.

2. Modify the Registry.

Warning: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious
problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft
cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using
Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

a. Log on to your computer by using an administrator account.
b. Click Start, click Run, type regedit , and then click OK.
c. For the following registry keys, right-click the IsInstalled value in
the right pane of the Registry Editor window, click Modify, change the
Value data to 0 , and then click OK.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed
Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed
Components\{44BBA840-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C}

3. Install Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1. To install
Internet Explorer 6 SP1, visit
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/ie6sp1/default.mspx
, click Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 under Download, and then click
Download.

4. Install Internet Explorer updates. To install updates, visit
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com , and then click Scan for updates.

I am looking forward to your reply.
