Blank drop down menus

Guest

I noticed that my right-click menu options on the desktop were blank until I
scroll down over and "paint" them. After further checking, I found that this
was also true for some applications, and even certain menus within these
applications. In IE for instance, my File, Edit, View, Tools, and Help menus
appear blank intially, but my Favorites menu pops up immediately as the
others should. Also, all drop down menus in Word appear automatically. I've
scanned for viruses - nothing, run CleanUp - no luck, and have checked for
Spyware - zilch. I checked another user profile and found no problems
whatsoever with any of the programs or shortcuts I had problems with. Can
anyone please help?

This can happen due to a lot of reasons mainly due to memory being used in
high or not availble for immediate paint! possibly if lot of applications
are running or if u are running low on memory. since u ruled out any
infections (usally the case) either case give a scan with these top security
solutions this will let u confirm.

http://safety.live.com (online scanner)
www.windowsonecare.com (ms antivirus)
www.freeav.com (avera antivir)
www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx (windows
defender)

also check taskmanager for which process is taking to many resources u can
use process explorer too
[http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/ProcessExplorer.html]

Remove all unwanted tools from startup [msconfig.exe (startmenu > run)

Or try increasing ur virutal memory. [my computer right click > properties >
advanced > perfomance settings > advanced > virtual memory.]

Removing unwanted graphic operations of ur themes releases a load of memory
[my computer right click > properties > advanced > perfomance settings >
advanced > visual effects.]

Hope this helps..,
