Blank document settings

How do I change the default settings that appear when I choose new, blank
document in Word?

The cursor has always been several lines down, and ever since I recently
worked on a slightly different document, my cursor is appearing at the very
top of the blank document. How can I make the cursor go back to its original
position as a default?
