blank device manager and network connections not showing

nothing is displayed in my device manager along with my network
connections, everything works fine, but nothing is showing. i'm really
confused and dont know what to do, i've tried looking at other posts
about validation errors with the plug and play, and permission settings
in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTES\CurrentControlSet\Enum but to no avail.
and have tried two of microsofts security updates but still to no
avail. any help would be gladly accepted
